Vision & Mission
The Center for African Culture and Heritage Studies (CAFCHS) is an academic and cultural institution committed to advancing knowledge, research, and advocacy in indigenous African humanities and social sciences. Rooted in African scholarly ownership, CAFCHS seeks to preserve, interrogate, and promote Africa’s diverse cultural traditions while engaging critically with contemporary

challenges of modernity, globalization, and decolonization. Core Objectives
Knowledge Production: Generate and disseminate research on African chieftaincy, indigenous governance, oral traditions, and cultural resilience. Preservation of Heritage: Safeguard intangible cultural practices, including art, ritual, and community knowledge systems. Policy Engagement: Provide insights for heritage policy, land tenure, and cultural sustainability in African societies. Education & Mentorship: Design interdisciplinary courses, mentor students, and foster scholarly networks across Africa and the diaspora. Digital Presence: Build strategic platforms, including domain branding and online archives, to amplify African voices globally. Distinctive Features
