Monitoring Team on Site For New and Existing Plots at Yenku Forest Reserve Assessment Report
We visited both existing plots (from earlier restoration work) and new plots (established under our 2026 project funded by Transmed and supported by FORIG). Here is what we found:

**🐝 Happy World Bee Day!**

This month, to mark the occasion, the Earth Care Ghana team visited the **International Stingless Bee Centre** — and we're buzzing with inspiration!

We got up close with Ghana's gentle pollinators, the **Stingless Bee

🍯 They produce powerful medicinal honey
🌿 They're expert pollinators for cocoa, mangoes, cashews & more
🌳 They nest in healthy trees — a sign of thriving forests

No sting, just pure goodness for nature and people.

Let's protect their habitats. Healthy bees = a healthy Ghana. 🇬🇭

Empowering Women, Restoring Forests: 2,000 Plantain Suckers Distributed!

Earth Care Ghana has put 2,000 organic plantain suckers in the hands of women smallholder farmers in Gomoa Onyinadze!

Why women? Because when you empower a woman farmer, you feed a family, educate children, AND restore a forest all at once. 🌍💪🏾

These suckers are part of our coastal savannah restoration at the Yenku Forest Reserve, helping women:
✅ Multiply suckers for income
✅ Feed their families with nutritious plantain
✅ Reduce pressure on the forest reserve

"I will sell the extra suckers and pay my children's school fees." — Madam Adwoa Mensah, beneficiary

This is not a handout. This is a women-led restoration economy in the making. From 2,000 suckers to 20,000 - watch this space! 👏🏾🌿

🌿 Our forests breathe. Our rivers sing. Our soil feeds us.

Today is World Biodiversity Day — and we're celebrating every living thing that makes Ghana extraordinary. 🇬🇭

From the hornbills of Kakum to the sea turtles of our shores, Ghana's biodiversity is a treasure worth protecting.
