Across the country, women and girls are showing up at health facilities, only to be turned away or left with limited, unreliable options. Health workers are doing their best, but without supplies, their hands are tied.

This delay is not neutral. It is pushing women toward unintended pregnancies, exposing many to unsafe abortions, and widening the gap between those who can afford alternatives and those who cannot.

Clear the commodities. Show up for the women who are waiting.

Yesterday marked a meaningful step forward as ARHR joined the launch of the Free Primary Health Care initiative.

This step shows a renewed commitment to ensuring that essential health services are not a privilege, but a right accessible to every woman, girl, and family.

We celebrate the progress, but we also look ahead: to stronger systems, equitable access, and health care that truly leaves no one behind.

Together, we keep pushing for health that is free, fair, and within reach.

Family planning cannot be shipped later. The need is now.

Life doesn’t pause. And yet, critical FP commodities remain stuck, held up while real consequences unfold in real time.

Every delay means missed protection, lost opportunities, and decisions taken out of women’s hands. It means a young girl forced to drop out, a family pushed beyond its limits, a future rewritten without consent.

This is not a backlog. It’s a breakdown.

Act now. Release the commodities.

For months, essential family planning commodities have remained uncleared while clinics run low, health workers improvise, and women and girls are left with fewer and riskier options.

This means rising unintended pregnancies, increased unsafe abortions, disrupted education for young girls, and added economic strain on families already doing their best to cope.

The longer this persists, the deeper the consequences. Health systems weaken. Inequalities widen. Lives are quietly pushed off course.

Family planning is essential. It cannot be paused, postponed, or left behind at the port.

Clear the commodities. Protect rights. Save lives.

It can get exhausting

But when something truly matters, when it carries purpose and impact, you don’t walk away. You dig deeper. You push harder. You fight to the very core.

Because in the end, what’s worth it is never easy, but it’s always worth the fight.
