African Child Rights and Youth Empowerment Foundation (ACRAYEF) The ACRAYEF is a Ghanaian based non-profit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to positively change the lives of disadvantaged especially stigmatised children and youth, their families and communities through a holistic and multi-dimensional approach. It aims to enhance their quality of life through a structured intervention and advocacy programmes that offers opportunities for children and young people’s development. Our work is mainly guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) http://www.ohchr.org/en/professionalinterest/pages/crc.aspx and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) http://www.un.org/disabilities/convention/conventionfull.shtml and our programme activities are based on the World Health Organizations (WHO) Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) http://www.who.int/disabilities/cbr/en/ approach which includes the following key areas: Health, Education, Livelihood, Social and Empowerment. We are seeking to establish strong partnerships with governmental institutions on national, regional and local level, non-governmental organizations, international donors and volunteers. On the local governmental level we want to implement effective child rights laws and hold local governments to their commitments. We recruit professional trained staff and apply established project management tools in order to address identified problems in best way and so that resources can be used efficiently and effectively.
