Join us to Empower, Educate, and Embrace

The primary goal for 2025 was to empower District Educational Directorates to take the lead in driving the 2026 Inclusive Reading and Arts Festival. I am thrilled to share that this vision has been successfully realised.

Out of 15 proposals received from across the country, Tolon and Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira were selected and awarded grants to facilitate this impactful festival.

An idea when conceive can only work when a step is taken.

Even better when you are part of a community Women Changemakers for Education where your idea is validated, refined and pushed with support.

I am most grateful Constance Kane Tawiah Agyarko-Kwarteng Rose A. Dodd for your constant support.

Let's play 🤸‍♀️
Play is crucial to children's development. For children to learn through play, we, the adults, must learn to play.

For three years, The Reading Factory has proudly pioneered Ghana's first Inclusive Reading and Arts Festival, fostering critical exposure to inclusive education. Now, we're taking a significant step: handing ownership to education directorates across Ghana! 🤝 This move empowers every Ghanaian child to explore their reading and artistic potential regardless of uniqueness. 🌟 We envision a truly surreal 2025 festival, and we invite you to partner with us in making this vision a reality. Going down memory lane, from 2021, the beginning of The Reading Factory's journey into supporting children to build their literacy abilities, I cannot help it than to appreciate the multitude of women that have a strong support system.
Our journey of bridging inequality among children with learning difficulties and differently able persons couldn't have been possible without women who led training, funded our work, and encouraged us to grow. Indeed, if all women and girls have clearly defined Rights, given the chance-Equality and are Empowered, the world will align fruitfully.
Happy International Women's Day to all women who make the world move positively. Ayekoo

After months of planning and fundraising, I was thrilled to see the hashtag and 2024 Inclusive Reading and Arts Festival come to fruition. The event, a collaboration between The Reading Factory, Ho Municipal Education Directorate, and the Volta Regional Education Directorate, showcased the incredible abilities of children with diverse learning styles.
Edem (not the real name), a student from Ho Anglican Primary School, was a standout at the festival for me. His unique learning style, characterized by swaying and singing while reading, highlighted the importance of differentiated learning. Reflecting on Edem’s unique abilities, I appreciated the importance of learning through play and building upon individual strengths. This experience made me wonder, how many other children are overlooked or mislabeled due to their diverse learning needs. Edem's story serves as a powerful reminder for educators to appreciate each student's individuality and adapt their teaching methods accordingly.
This exposure and experience are a result of the collective efforts Saraswati Arthur Airlykplym Havor Esi Korkor Arthur Rukmini Esi Arhtur Zainab Iddrisu among great men and women. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the 2024 Inclusive Reading and Arts Festival. Your contributions brought joy and inspiration to over 100 children. We look forward to continuing our work in 2025 and making a lasting impact on the lives of young learners.
