✨ From a 9-year-old goalkeeper to a 24-year-old university graduate — this is Rauf’s journey. ✨

In 2010, Zakari-Slimba Abdul Rauf joined the ANOPA Project Football Club at just 9 years old, standing proudly between the goalposts with big dreams and fearless determination. Under the guidance of passionate German volunteer coaches and our dedicated local coach Ali, Rauf and his teammates competed in numerous local and away matches, winning laurels and building lifelong memories.

When Rauf moved to Accra to pursue his senior high school education, distance never weakened his bond with ANOPA. He stayed connected, holding tightly to his dream of becoming a professional goalkeeper. Through it all, ANOPA Project stood by him — offering mentorship, financial and material support, and encouragement to keep his dream alive.

After completing SHS, Rauf gained admission to the University of Cape Coast to study BSc Statistics, right here in the region where ANOPA is rooted. Though life took him away from competitive football, Rauf chose another powerful path — service. Alongside his studies, he volunteered tirelessly with ANOPA, regularly visiting the office, supporting outdoor sports and recreational activities, engaging with international volunteers and staff, and helping build our social enterprise — all without expecting anything in return.

Today, at 24 years old, Rauf celebrates a major milestone: graduating with a BSc in Statistics 🎓
Through ANOPA’s mentorship and recommendation, he has also secured his national service placement at one of Ghana’s most prestigious public institutions.

Rauf’s story is one of loyalty, resilience, gratitude, and giving back. He is breaking barriers, rising with purpose, and inspiring the next generation. We are confident he will go far — and when he does, we know he will always pay it forward to uplift the less privileged.

We are proud of you, Rauf. Your journey reminds us why we do what we do. ❤️⚽📚

✨ ANOPA Project x RYTHM Foundation: Restoring Dignity, Hope & Possibility for Special Needs Children in Ghana ✨

Every child deserves a space where they feel seen, safe, and valued. At Aboom Special School in Cape Coast, many children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) have been learning in classrooms that did not reflect their worth, potential, or dreams.
Today, that story is changing.

Through the unwavering support of the RYTHM Foundation, ANOPA Project has breathed new life into one of the school’s classrooms—turning it into a warm, vibrant, and dignified learning environment. 💛

This transformation includes:
🌟 A safer, modified ceiling
🌟 Fresh and uplifting paint
🌟 Tiled flooring to enhance comfort and hygiene
🌟 New louvre blades for better light and ventilation
🌟 Curtains that bring warmth and love into the room
… all carefully chosen to restore joy and confidence to the children who learn there.

This is more than refurbishment.
This is hope restored.
This is love made visible.
This is inclusion in action.

For the children of Aboom Special School, this classroom is not just a space—it is a message:
“You matter. Your dreams matter. Your future matters.”

Together with RYTHM Foundation, we are building environments where children with special needs can learn, thrive, and blossom with dignity.

💛 Every child deserves a beautiful place to grow—and we’re committed to making that happen.

🎨📖 Creative Art & Storytelling Promoting Inclusion in Schools!!

At ANOPA Project, our creative art and storytelling sessions at the Ghana National Basic Inclusive School give every child — including those with disabilities — a joyful space to learn, express and grow.

Through colours, shapes and imaginative stories, children boost their creativity, communication, motor skills, confidence and emotional expression. Our mixed-ability sessions also promote true inclusion as pupils create, share stories, collaborate and celebrate each other’s uniqueness.

We’re empowering children to dream, imagine and express themselves without limits. 🌟🎨📖

✨ From ANOPA intern to a global advocate for inclusive sports- meet Tobias Antoni!!!

Tobias works with the Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund (DOSB) in International Relations Department and is a founding board member of Sport 4 Development e.V. (S4D). With a Master’s degree in International Sport Development & Politics from the German Sport University Cologne, he has dedicated his career to using sport to change lives.

🌍 Where it all began: ANOPA Project, Ghana

Tobias’ internship with ANOPA Project in Cape Coast became the turning point of his professional path. Working hands-on with blind, deaf, partially sighted and disadvantaged children shaped his understanding of inclusive sport, community engagement and life-skills development.

This ANOPA experience didn’t just influence him — it built the foundation for his future work. The model of inclusion he first lived at ANOPA is the same model he now promotes globally through DOSB and S4D.

🌐 His Impact Today

Today, Tobias supports major inclusive-sport projects across Uganda, Kenya, Burundi and Namibia, training hundreds of coaches to deliver sport programmes for children with and without intellectual disabilities. His work also spans refugee integration in Greece, international expert training with GIZ, and youth volunteer programmes across Africa.

🎯 His Vision

From Ghana to Europe and East Africa, Tobias carries forward one message he learned at ANOPA:
Sport can break barriers, fight stigma, and create equal opportunities for every child.

Our All-Inclusive Games bring sighted, blind, and partially sighted pupils together in one joyful space — moving, laughing, and connecting through the fun of Freeze Dance. 💃🕺

Moments like these remind us that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and included. Through simple play, we break barriers, build friendships, and show that learning side by side is not just possible — it’s powerful.

In our classrooms and on our playfields, inclusion isn’t a concept… it’s a feeling. A community. A promise. ❤️
