New Vision Foundation-International (NVFI) was founded by Mr Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, a Social entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational speaker, strategist, and a former programme manager at Sympathy International (NGO). While working with Sympathy International-NGO and Care Love Charity Foundation respectively (both in Cape Coast) as Programme Manager, Mr Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, realized how serious the plight of people living in the marginalized and vulnerable communities in Ghana was with respect to their living conditions and the poor state of their social amenities and facilities. Thus, he became concerned about the situation and challenges that confront people living in those areas. Adams (his late Father) who worked with the Ministry of Information, “rendering selfless social service to humanity and mankind is service to God”, Mr Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams developed so much interest in social interventions aimed at helping the poor and the needy in society especially people living in the marginalized and vulnerable communities in Ghana. In order to further champion his passion for helping the needy, he formed the Vision Club (VC) in 2010. Many joined the club and Mr Adams as Founder and President of the club organized Youth Forums and other social programmes aimed at encouraging the youth to participate in community development and ensure the development of their human potential. On leaving Care Love Charity Foundation, Gabriel did not give up that dream culminating in activities leading to the formation of NVFI. Believing that each and every person in society has a role to play to help the fight against poverty in order to alleviate suffering and improve the living conditions of people in society, strengthened his resolve to establish the New Vision Foundation-International (NVFI) to essentially impact lives and assist in the development of vulnerable and marginalized communities in Ghana. Urged on by his family and lovely wife, Mrs. Gertrude Adams, New Vision Foundation-International (NVFI) was established and registered as a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) on 24’ January 2017. Influenced by the new development paradigm, which puts people first, New Vision Foundation-International (NVFI) follows a participatory approach in every sphere of its work. The Traditional knowledge of the vulnerable and marginalized people is valued and respected, and there is the confidence that vulnerable and marginalized people are capable of leading transformational interventions to enhance the development of their communities. It is our belief that, for a community to work to improve its own development and reduce its dependency, there is a need for full involvement at all stages of the development cycle. The participation of communities in the identification, planning, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects is a key factor in our (NVFI) work. Internally, a participatory approach is adopted in managing the affairs of the organization. Externally, NVFI’s role as a “Change Agent” helps to develop community management structures that are capable of managing their own development. This increases the ability of the community to demand accountability in all their affairs; from leaders to officials. It also reinforces the community’s belief in the value of their own development choices and efforts. These community management structures are not parallel structures but are built upon traditional institutions promoting equitable representation and participation. Human resource development is an essential part of our development work. This means ensuring that the community is trained and skilled, as well as organized, to maximize the potential of the community to take hold of its own development. NVFI strongly believes in maximizing its impact by transferring field experience into knowledge to influence the development policies and practices of NGOs, donors and government agencies. This is important for working towards the long-term goal of eradicating poverty. ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES (CORE VALUES)

To ensure Transparency and Accountability in donor and partner relations as well as the achievements of our project objectives according to set targets, the organization has set up a Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Department to basically plan and monitor the implementation of all programmes of the organization and evaluates end results to access its impact. At NVFI, we believe that Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a good management tool that can help us measure the performance and achievement levels of our programmes as well as their impact on intended beneficiaries. The activities of the M&E Department are centered on tracking ongoing projects of NVFI to enable our stakeholders and Board of Directors to obtain regular feedback on the progress of our projects and also to track any strategy or actions being taken by our partners towards achieving project results. The Department also conducts periodic independent assessments on either completed or ongoing activities to determine the extent to which stated objectives are being achieved in order to aid management to make a meaningful contribution to its review process or decision-making.
