What an incredible journey! โค๏ธ
This yearโs June Love Outreach reminded us once again that when people come together with love and compassion, lives are changed.
At Abuenu D/A Basic School and Old Ebu Brebia D/A Basic School in the Central Region, hundreds of students joined us for an engaging conversation on menstrual health. Among other things, we talked openly about periods, answered questions, challenged myths, and encouraged our young people to see menstruation as a normal part of life. In fact, not something to be ashamed of in this or their next lives.
The students also received exercise books, school shoes, and other educational materials to support their learning. Our girls received sanitary pads to help them manage their periods with confidence and stay in school.
This outreach was made even more special through our partnership with Ms. Gloria Afriyie Anane, an MA student at American University (SIS), studying Intercultural and International Communication and a recipient of the Professor Gary R. Weaver Memorial Scholarship. Through her scholarship-supported contribution, we were able to provide sanitary pads and menstrual health education to girls with the goal of helping reduce barriers that menstruation can create for their education, health, and well-being.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, shared our vision, prayed for us, or cheered us on from afarโthank you. Because of you, these students now have more than books, shoes, and sanitary pads. They have knowledge, confidence, hope, and the reminder that people they may never meet believe in their future.
Your kindness made this possible, and we are deeply grateful for every single one of you. โค๏ธ
Together, we will keep touching lives.
