Professional Identity
Psychiatric nursing is not any nursing with a mental health rotation. It is a distinct clinical specialty demanding unique competencies, unique risks, and unique legal accountabilities.
Yet many of us are represented by unions that negotiate without understanding our work, the legislation we work with, or our reality.
PAPNG exists because psychiatric nurses deserve an association that speaks and understand what our work entails.
๐Ÿ“Œ If you are a psychiatric nurse in Ghana, this is your professional home.

The Current State of the CoS:
The agreed Conditions of Service for nurses and midwives to be effected in the mid year budget 2025 currently include three core items: fuel allowance, uniform allowance, and a research and book allowance.

Know Your Entitlements:
If you are a nurse, especially within our ranks, itโ€™s important to be fully aware of what these benefits mean for you, and what you are entitled to receive.

A Call for Stronger Advocacy:
Going forward, it is critical that all nursing unions collaborate strategically to negotiate more comprehensive and forward-looking terms for nurses and midwives.

Why Join P.A.P.N.G.:
Join P.A.P.N.G, a vibrant, proactive union committed to equity, transparency, and empowerment. Together, we ensure psychiatric nurses are treated fairly and represented fully.
