This is the Official page for the Global Shapers Hub in Cape Coast. Global Shapers is an initiative of the World Economic Forum.

The Global Shapers Community is a global network of local communities led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, achievements and drive to make a positive contribution to their communities. We call these local communities “Hubs” and they are based in cities across the world. Each Hub is required to work together and to undertake at least 1 project a year that has positive local im

The Global Shapers Community was started in June 2011 by the World Economic Forum. In just under 4 years, the community has grown to over 400 Hubs in cities across the world. Today, there are over 5,000 socially engaged Global Shapers worldwide, with many Hubs undertaking projects in their communities. Our strength as a hub comes from our diversity and our common belief in the importance of responsible leadership. We are focused not only on being leaders, but on how our endeavors affect the people, places and world around us. By pooling the skills and resources within the hub, we can support each other to be more responsible leaders and also support the development of responsible leadership with up and coming leaders within the local Cape Coast community and the wider Global Shapers community. We gathered in cape coast for a retreat—an energizing and purpose-filled day of reflection, connection, and strategy.
It was a refreshing moment to pause, realign, and reignite our shared passion for impact.
Grateful for the ideas exchanged, the relationships strengthened, and the renewed commitment to shaping a better future for our community.

Did you know that, according to many children in the country still cannot read or write, despite the progress made in expanding access to education? This gap has created a significant word deficit that continues to affect reading success at higher levels of learning.

As part of a community of young changemakers committed to tackling local, regional, and global challenges, the Global Shapers Cape Coast Hub ( ) in collaboration with The Reading Factory is stepping in to help close this gap.

We are launching The Shaper’s Club Project at the Police Basic School in Pedu, Cape Coast — starting with the early years foundation classes.

Through this project, we aim to:

📚 Provide supplementary reading materials to build a strong and lasting reading culture among young learners.
🏫 Support the establishment of functional libraries within the school.
🎉 Organize reading festivals that make literacy fun and exciting.
👩🏾‍🏫 Strengthen teachers’ capacity to run and sustain vibrant reading clubs.

Together, we’re shaping a future where every child has the opportunity and the tools to read, learn, and thrive. ✨📖

to 2019, when the Global Shapers Community, Cape Coast Hub visited the Egyeikrom Refugee Camp to enhance refugees’ economic self-reliance, equity, and inclusion. The project focused on assessing skill sets, providing training, and creating pathways for inclusive employment opportunities.

On February 22, 2025, we gathered as a hub to reflect on our journey, reconnect the dots, and realign with our mission, a powerful reminder of why we started and where we are headed.

As a team, we recognize that growth comes from continuous learning. By examining our past experiences, we gain valuable insights to refine our strategies and strengthen our impact in the coming days.
