From 31st March to 1st April 2026, the Tamale Zonal Coordinating Office (TZCO), on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MLGCRA), successfully organized a two-day Training of Trainers workshop in Tamale under the Livelihood Empowerment and Productive Inclusion Programme (LEPIP).
The workshop brought together the Implementation Teams from Central Gonja, Gushegu, Karaga, Kpandai, Kumbungu, Saboba, and Tatale-Sanguli as well as other regional actors. The objective was clear: to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively deliver life skills and business management skills training at the community level, as well as to apply the LEPIP Android application for attendance tracking and reporting.
In a message delivered on his behalf, the Regional Programme Officer underscored that LEPIP goes beyond skills training. Implemented in partnership with UNICEF, the programme is a strategic intervention aimed at reducing child marriage, preventing adolescent pregnancy, and promoting economic independence among out-of-school adolescent girls.
The training was attended by key stakeholders, including Dr. Peter Gyamfi Kwarteng (Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Ghana), representatives from MLGCRA, NRCC, zonal and national programme officers.
