ALCOHOLIC CARDIOMYOPATHY: THE SILENT HEART DESTROYER

Many people believe alcohol only damages the liver. The truth is that excessive alcohol consumption can also destroy the heart.

Alcoholic cardiomyopathy is a serious condition in which years of heavy alcohol use weaken and enlarge the heart muscle. As the heart becomes weaker, it struggles to pump blood effectively to the rest of the body. This can lead to heart failure, irregular heartbeats, stroke, and even sudden death.

Warning signs include:
• Shortness of breath
• Easy fatigue and weakness
• Swollen feet and legs
• Fast or irregular heartbeat
• Chest discomfort
• Difficulty performing normal daily activities

The encouraging news is that if the condition is detected early, stopping alcohol completely can allow the heart to recover significantly. However, continued drinking can cause permanent damage that may become life-threatening.

Advice:

✔ A healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, a balanced diet, and routine medical check-ups help protect your heart.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR 2026 WORLD DRUG DAY CELEBRATION A SUCCESS

On behalf of Management, residents, and staff of LOAD GHANA, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who joined us to commemorate the 2026 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and the 11th Anniversary of LOAD GHANA on 26th June 2026 at our Centre in Sumburungu.

The day was made even more special as we also celebrated the birthday of Abaa Prince Amalitinga. We give God all the glory for His faithfulness throughout these eleven years of transforming lives and restoring hope.

Our sincere gratitude goes to our distinguished guests, partners, supporters, volunteers, staff, and residents who made the celebration memorable. Your presence, prayers, words of encouragement, and unwavering support inspire us to continue our mission of helping individuals break free from drug and alcohol addiction.

The celebration featured the presentation of specially designed World Drug Day T-shirts to all residents and staff, a special lunch, inspiring messages from various speakers, music and fellowship, and a powerful time of prayer for healing, restoration, and deliverance.

Although the celebration has ended, our work continues. As part of this year's commemoration, LOAD GHANA will embark on a series of community outreach campaigns against substance abuse. We will visit communities, churches, schools, and other organized groups to educate the public on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse while offering hope to those struggling with addiction.

Together, we can build healthier families, safer communities, and a drug-free Ghana.

TODAY IS THE WORLD DRUG DAY
TODAY IS THE 11TH ANNIVERSARY OF LOAD GHANA
TODAY IS THE BIRTHDAY OF ABAA PRINCE AMALITINGA

Today, 26th June, is one of the most memorable days of my life. It is a day filled with gratitude, joy, purpose, and hope.

Today, the world commemorates the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. It is also a day of great significance for the LOAD GHANA family because LOAD GHANA is officially eleven (11) years old. Above all, today is the birthday of my beloved son, Prince Amalitinga Abaa.

Exactly eleven years ago, on 26th June 2015, we chose to launch LOAD GHANA on World Drug Day. We believed that God had given us a vision to restore hope, transform lives, and bring freedom to people battling addiction. What started as a dream has, by God's grace, become a ministry that has touched countless lives.

Then, on 26th June 2017, while we were once again commemorating World Drug Day at Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga, some family members quietly whispered into my ears that my wife had successfully delivered our baby boy at the Bolgatanga Hospital.

She had been admitted three days earlier, and we had become worried because this was unusual. But in His perfect timing, God answered our prayers. At that very moment, as we celebrated the mission of LOAD GHANA, God blessed our family with a son.

When I visited my wife at the hospital, I told her, "God has endorsed and approved the vision of LOAD GHANA by giving us this precious gift on the very day we celebrate this mission." We brought our son home with hearts full of gratitude, convinced that God was truly behind the vision He had entrusted to us.

Today, we celebrate three wonderful blessings:

- The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
- The 11th Anniversary of LOAD GHANA.
- The birthday of our precious son, Prince Amalitinga Abaa.

As we gather with our residents at Sumburungu today, my heart overflows with thanksgiving. I thank God for His faithfulness, our dedicated staff, volunteers, partners, supporters, friends, and every resident who has trusted us with their journey of recovery.

To everyone struggling with addiction, never lose hope. Recovery is possible. With God, determination, and the right support, every life can be transformed.
