Update on the Establishment of the Western North University

We are pleased to share Update No. 3 regarding the outcome of the recent Stakeholders Consultation Meeting. Following concerns over the initial exclusion of the Western North Region from the new university initiative, swift action by the Regional Minister and key leaders has secured assurance that our region will indeed benefit from this vital infrastructure.
A comprehensive proposal is now being drafted based on the diverse views gathered from traditional authorities, MPs, MMDCEs, and youth groups.

Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai MCE Engages WENDA Leadership and Revolutionary Youth of Humjibre

Today, February 27, 2026, the President of the Western North Development Association (WENDA), Maxwell Baidoo, facilitated a meeting between the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Sebastian Obeng , and the Revolutionary Youth of Humjibre to address key developmental concerns raised in a petition to WENDA.

During the engagement, they outlined major issues affecting the community, including:
• The deplorable condition of the Sefwi Bekwai–Humjibre road and the need for updates on its reconstruction.
• Inadequate educational infrastructure.
• The deteriorating state of the Humjibre Clinic.
• The urgent need for street bulbs to enhance safety and visibility in the town.

Hon. Obeng provided updates on each concern and reaffirmed his commitment to resolving the challenges confronting the Humjibre community.
