The community gathered with curiosity and energy. We spoke about diabetes in simple, relatable terms, why it matters, how it affects families, and the hope that comes with early detection.

Over 50 people, young and old, stepped forward for screening. Most had fasting glucose checks, while others did random tests. Each test was a step toward knowledge, prevention, and healthier living.

On Monday, 16th March, The O’mints Foundation, in collaboration with The Oti-Amankwah Foundation, University of Antwerp, City of Antwerp, and 4de Pijlersorganisatie, visited the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Research & Development Unit. We were warmly received by the Medical Director, Dr. Kwadwo Sarbeng, and the Deputy Director of the Research & Development Unit, Dr. Evans Ansu-Yeboah.

We were shown around the facility and had the opportunity to visit the Physiotherapy Department and other departments, gaining valuable insights into their work and contributions to healthcare. The University of Antwerp, led by Professor Dirk Vissers and Professor Bart Van Rompaey, paid a visit to the O’mints Foundation’s office, located adjacent to the Ashanti South Regional Police Headquarters, Bekwai Sawaba, and made a significant contribution by donating two CPR mannequins.

These mannequins will serve as essential training tools for our First Aid Project, which is designed to equip community members with the knowledge and skills to perform CPR and save lives in emergency situations.

We sincerely thank the University of Antwerp for this invaluable support. Their commitment strengthens our mission to empower communities with practical health education and life-saving capacity. Together, we are advancing safer, healthier, and more resilient communities.
