On Monday (19/05/25) around 8:30 pm, some hooligans believed to be from the rival chief of Adoagyiri Adu Kokoor's palace went on a rampage in Adoagyiri township. They moved around town, brandishing offensive weapons.
They destroyed some properties and attacked the Kotoku people with cutlasses and guns.
The Police were contacted, and their response to the situation was very bad, Just about six police officers were deployed by District Command and they came to the community and spent less than 1hr in such a volatile situation.
So there was a reprisal attack by friends and families of the wounded person attacked by those hooligans believed to be from Adu Korkor palace the following morning on Tuesday resulting in injuries to the other group.
In that particular situation, the police force brought in more men. On Thursday night 22/05/ 2025, Adu Kokoor's hooligan boys went on a " super rampage in the street of Adoagyiri destroying Properties and attacking citizens believed not to be in support of their kingship in the community. The police force was contacted, and it took the police more than 2 hours from Nsawam to get to Adoagyiri town, before the arrival of the police force, alot of properties and lives were seriously under attack and destroyed.
The response of the police force is part of the reason this has escalated to this level in the community. As we speaks lives and properties can't be protect anymore by the police force in the community, many has lost hope in the pve force in Adoaygiri. We need a higher level of protection and security in the community.
