DWC Workshop: A Resounding Success in Grooming Seasoned Speakers and Writers
The Debaters and Writers’ Club (DWC) of the University of Education, Winneba – Ajumako Campus, successfully hosted a transformative workshop on Friday, 26th July 2025, under the theme “Becoming Seasoned Speakers and Writers.”
The event drew enthusiastic participation from students across various departments and proved to be an empowering experience, aimed at sharpening their communication, writing, and public speaking skills.
Participants had the rare opportunity to learn from distinguished speakers including Dr. Naa Korkor L. Watson-Nortey, Ag. Head of the Department of Communication Instruction, Mr. Asare Okae-Anti, and the Patron of the Club, Professor Abraham Kwesi Bisilki, Head of Department for Ga-Dangme Education. The three sessions focused on:
Developing Communication Skills – Dr. Naa
Crafting Compelling Content – Prof. Bisilki
Building Confidence – Mr. Okae-Anti
The workshop blended insightful presentations with interactive discussions, leaving participants inspired and better equipped to express themselves in both academic and professional spaces.
In a post-event reflection, the DWC expressed heartfelt appreciation to its Patron, Prof. Abraham Kwesi Bisilki, Dr. Naa, and Mr. Okae-Anti for the impactful knowledge shared. Special thanks also went to the current and past executives of the Club for their dedication, as well as to all participants who made the workshop a memorable and enriching experience.
As the Club looks ahead, members are committed to applying the knowledge gained to make meaningful contributions in society as communicators, writers, and future leaders.
