On the September 5th, 2025. The Youths of Upper West Akim embarked on a donation exercise at Okurase Presby and Methodist School.
Education remains the cornerstone of every thriving society, yet countless studies and reports have shown that one of the major challenges confronting basic school students in rural areas is the lack of access to adequate teaching and learning materials. This limitation continues to affect the academic performance and future opportunities of many children.
As an organization committed to change, the Youths of Upper West Akim (YoUWA), true to our slogan “Youths Leading Change, Shaping Our Future”, have taken it upon ourselves to contribute to bridging this gap. On this note, we embarked on an initiative to distribute exercise books and other essential stationery to selected schools within the Upper West Akim Constituency.
We believe that this gesture, though modest, will have a significant impact on the lives of these young learners. By providing them with the basic tools they need for effective learning, we are empowering them to reach their full potential, improve their academic performance, and inspire hope for a brighter future.
This project is also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education for All, which seeks to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education while promoting lifelong learning opportunities for every child.
Beyond this donation, YoUWA envisions a future where young people actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the constituency. This is only the beginning. In the coming years, we look forward to undertaking more transformative projects that will uplift the status of our constituency, empower our youth, and shape a more promising future for generations to come.
Together, we believe change is possible
