Let's change the narrative about Nkonya.
By making it the largest producer of honey in Ghana , and by extension on the World Map .
Ethiopia🇪🇹 is the largest producer and exporter of honey in Africa.It produces approximately 55,300 tonnes per year, while the country has the potential to produce up to 500,000 tonnes of honey.

Ethiopia is also the fourth largest beeswax producer in the world after China, Turkey and Argentina and the first producer of beeswax in Africa.

PROJECT : SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT THROUGH BEEKEEPING IN THE BIAKOYE DISTRICT OF THE OTI REGION IN GHANA
The Foundation is a registered non-profit organization that has received recognition from several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in Ghana, as well as other Development Corporations. It was created by the 1993-year group of Nkonya Senior High Alumni. The Foundation started operation as an Old Student Association and metamorphosed into a not-for-profit Organization, due to the numerous developmental challenges in the Biakoye District of Ghana. The Foundation's mission is to promote peace and sustainable development throughout the Oti region. In our target communities, the Foundation aspires to collaborate with all stakeholders to promote good health, quality education, youth empowerment, food security, peace, and sustainable development. With its headquarters in Nkonya Ahenkro, Biakoye's District Capital, the Foundation is made up of 9 Directors, 5 Management Team members, Nkonya Senior High 93 students, and 120 volunteers in the 6 communities where we currently have projects. The Foundation is funded through grants, donations, stakeholder Partnership and Collaboration, Alumni of Nkosec contributions and our Farming Ventures proceeds.
We intends to implement a livelihoods project on beekeeping. The goal of the beekeeping project is to create a social enterprise of a commercial honey production hub in Biakoye District. The specific objectives are to promote profitable social enterprise of beekeeping and honey production among the youth in the district, to improve the livelihood of the youth in the target communities and to promote forest conservation in the target communities through beekeeping. The Project will commence in July 2022 starting with 40 youths and adults between 18 and 45 years in two communities , Nkonya Tepo and Ntumda and progressively extend to other Communities in the Biakoye enclave .
