On Thursday, 14 August 2025 the workshop took place in Takoradi engaging Civil Society Organisations, Faith-based leaders and media for sustainable transition to clean and renewable sources of energy for household and industrial use. In Collaboration with Ministry of Energy, Kasa initiative Ghana and GreenFaith Ghana are ensuring rural communities are aware of the National agenda as stated in the Ghana Energy Transition Framework.

On Wednesday 13 August 2025, Kasa initiative Ghana together with GreenFaith Ghana carried out a capacity strengthening and awareness creation workshop on energy transition in Cape coast, Central Region of . The engagement that had participation from Civil society organisations operating in the environment governance area, media personnel and faith-based leaders sought a broad-based approach in including rural communities in the national energy transition agenda.
Guided by the Ghana energy transition framework, the conveners who are part of a consortium tasked with ensuring a just and inclusive transition, are working with representation from Ministry of Energy to harmonize government plans and non-state recommendations to the process.
Facilitated by Dr. Sogbadji, Deputy Director, Power (Nuclear and Alternative Energy). Ministry of Energy of Ghana, the session involved presentation as well as knowledge sharing among participants.

Kasa, in collaboration with Cowater International, is leading the climate change budget analysis under the Strengthening Investments in Gender-Responsive Climate Adaptation (SIGRA) project. During a two-day workshop concluding today, participants were introduced to Ghana’s 2025 budget, with a focus on allocations for climate change adaptation and mitigation, presented by Kasa’s Network Coordinator, Jonathan Gokah. The session was followed by an engagement with Ministry of Finance, Ghana , which provided deeper insights into the budget formulation process. The workshop aimed to bring together women-led Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and key government stakeholders for dialogue and capacity building in preparation for the 2025 mid-year budget review.

95% of Ghanaians identify with a faith. Faith leaders thus play a key role in shaping believes, opinions and practices. It is due to this knowledge that Kasa and GreenFaith Ghana engaged faith leaders, traditional leaders and CSOs in Ho, Volta region to create awareness on . As part of the Ghana Energy Trnaistion Consortium supported by Gower street and hosted by Strategic Youth Network for Development Ghana , the bid to bridge the gap between national frameworks, such as the Ghana Energy Transition Framework, and grassroot understanding plus implementation requires the engagement of all stakeholder. Participants also had a change to engage a the ministry of energy though Dr Robert Sogbadji who broke down the national plan and its implications on communities.

CSOs in the Natural resources and environmental governance convened on 30 June to engage in the government lead GH-NDC 3.0 review process. Members gave policy recommendations on policies and frameworks key on achieving set goals as well as contributed to the NDC framework.

Our workshop is currently ongoing in the Volta Region with support from Sightsavers

Participants are being equipped with tools to engage in civic duties like public participation and influencing climate policy. Facilitators are also guiding them on how to develop early warning systems, anticipatory actions, and response strategies that are inclusive of people with disabilities.

The sessions have sparked inspiring conversations especially from women with disabilities on locally led solutions for building resilience to climate change.
