IDSC 2026: Protect Not Punish — Ghana Stands Together

Cherish a Child Foundation in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare, under the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection hosted the International Day for Street Children - Stakeholders Conference at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Key wins:
1. Strong attendance: Government Agencies - National Commission for Civic Education, Narcotic Control Commission, MoGCSP; Dept of Social Welfare, Department of Children, Department of Gender etc., Non- Government Organization - Light Outreach Foundation, Ga Ladies Association, Religious Leaders, Company Leaders & partners.
2. Commitment made: Government agencies pledged closer collaboration to end streetism
3. Lived proof: Nicholas Amenyo, once on the streets, now completed Senior High School and pursuing admission into tertiary education
4. Clear ask: Companies urged to open CSR budgets for street-connected children's transformation.
5. Powerful close: All stakeholders sang together — _we are all involved_
