Democracy thrives where information is shared, power is accountable, and citizens are informed.

As highlighted by Atifete Jahjaga, openness and transparency are essential to building strong institutions and preventing abuse of power. When information flows freely and accountability is upheld, societies are better equipped to confront corruption and strengthen democratic values.

Let us continue to promote open governance, responsible leadership, and meaningful public participation.

Fighting corruption requires courage, consistency, and a refusal to look the other way.

As A. K. Antony reminds us:
“There is no compromise when it comes to corruption. You have to fight it.”

Building a corruption-free society starts with clear choices choosing integrity, accountability, and responsibility in our daily actions.

Let this week be a reminder that silence enables corruption, but action helps stop it.

As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the power of hope, renewal, and sacrifice.

This season calls us not only to reflect, but to renew our shared commitment to integrity, accountability, and justice in our society.

May this Easter inspire us all to keep working together towards a transparent and corruption-free Ghana.

Wishing you a peaceful and meaningful celebration.

Single-sourcing in public procurement is allowed but only under clearly defined conditions.

From exclusive supplier rights to emergency situations and research-driven contracts, Section 40 of the PPA Act outlines when this method can be used.

Understanding these provisions is key to promoting transparency, preventing abuse, and ensuring value for public funds.

Let’s stay informed and hold systems accountable.

At the National Dialogue on the Office of the Special Prosecutor, our Executive Director, Madame Mary Addah, shared a balanced and honest perspective on the OSP’s performance.

“In my opinion, the OSP is doing well perhaps 60 out of 100.”

She highlighted the reality many often overlook:

“Corruption is a hidden activity, which makes it difficult for any institution to achieve results easily.”

At the same time, she emphasized the need for improvement:

“There is still a lot more to be done, including strengthening our legislation.”

Conversations like these are important as we continue to demand stronger, more effective accountability systems in Ghana.

TI Ghana remains committed to promoting transparency and accountability.

Corruption fatigue is real and Ghanaians are demanding results.

At the National Dialogue on the Office of the Special Prosecutor, our Executive Director, Madame Mary Addah, highlighted a key issue:

Accountability must apply to everyone including accountability institutions.

She also stressed the need for clearer communication from the OSP to rebuild public trust and manage expectations.

As Transparency International Ghana we remain committed to ensuring that anti-corruption efforts are not only visible but effective and answerable to the people.

“The greatest want of the world is the want of men who will not be bought or sold…”

A powerful reminder from Ellen G. White that integrity is the foundation of just societies.

Building a corruption-free Ghana starts with individuals who stand for truth, accountability, and what is right no matter the cost.

Corruption is not inevitable. It is a choice and so is integrity.

At Transparency International, the message is clear: systems can change, and accountability can be strengthened when we all play our part.

Let’s keep pushing for a Ghana where transparency is the standard, not the exception.

Ghana has improved slightly in the GDI rankings, from 23 (Very High Risk) in 2020 to 33 (High Risk) in 2025.

But here’s the reality:
⚠️ Progress is slow
⚠️ Key risks still remain in operations & procurement

Moving up a grade is good but real reform is what matters.

Of the 11 countries assessed in both 2020 and 2025, most improved slightly. Personnel management saw the biggest gains, moving up a full index band. But corruption risks remain high to critical across the board. https://ti-defence.org/gdi/
