Africa Center for International Law & Accountability ACILA is a 501(c) (3) research, education, think tank which aims to contribute to African scholarship through enhanced understanding of international law.

The Africa Center for International Law and Accountability (ACILA) was incorporated under US law, in the state of Virginia, on 20th October, 2015, and received its designation as a 501 (c)(3) research and education, non-partisan, non-profit, and non-governmental organization from the Internal Revenue Service of the United States of America. On 23rd December, 2015, ACILA-Ghana was incorporated unde

r Ghana law as a non-governmental organization with a certificate of recognition as a National NGO number D.S.D/6857 by the Department of Social Development in Ghana. ACILA deploys its programming primarily from its office in Accra, Ghana, to Africa with the following areas of focus:

International law
International justice
Monitoring African States’ compliance with regional and international instruments
International Human rights
Good governance
Anti-corruption
Rule of Law
