Accra, Ghana – June 5, 2025

In a significant step toward deepening youth engagement in Ghana’s tourism industry, a high-level delegation from the Tourism Society of Ghana (TOSOGHA) has paid a strategic visit to the Head Office of the Ghana Tourist Development Company (GTDC). This visit follows the successful conclusion of partnership talks between the two institutions, aimed at advancing domestic tourism initiatives among students and the youth nationwide.

The TOSOGHA delegation, comprising members of the National Secretariat and National Executives, was led by the Executive Director, Mr. Joseph Amartey. The meeting symbolized a shared vision between TOSOGHA and GTDC—one that places youth empowerment, cultural education, and national heritage appreciation at the heart of Ghana’s tourism drive.

During the visit, both parties engaged in insightful discussions centered on shaping the future of youth-oriented tourism in Ghana. Key highlights of the dialogue included the official rollout plans for a series of collaborative events such as the *"Accra Night Tours"* tailored for tertiary students, the *"Campus Connect"* experience designed for Both Tetiary and Senior High School students, and the much-anticipated Assin Heritage Adventure, as well as the upcoming *"World Tourism Day Celebration"* which promises to combine history, culture, and fun in a dynamic educational tour.

“These are not just events; they are platforms for learning, leadership, and legacy,” Mr. Amartey emphasized. “The youth must be active participants in preserving and promoting our national identity, and tourism provides the perfect avenue.”

The GTDC leadership represented by the CEO; Prof. Kobby Mensah welcomed the TOSOGHA team warmly and expressed optimism about the impact such collaborations will have on building a stronger tourism culture among the youth. The meeting also explored opportunities to integrate tourism education into academic enrichment programs and increase student exposure to key tourist sites across the country.

As Ghana’s tourism landscape evolves, this partnership marks a proactive approach to nurturing a generation that is not only aware of Ghana’s cultural wealth but is also inspired to contribute meaningfully to its sustainability.

With activities slated to begin in the coming months, stakeholders are urged to lend their support as TOSOGHA and GTDC set the stage for a new era of youth-driven tourism innovation and excitement.
