Dear WeCare Family,
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent event under the Mandate of God. Yesterday, WeCare Earth, in collaboration with the organizers of the 40 under 40 Awards, Xo-Dus Communications, and other esteemed associates, took a significant step forward in our mission to foster a culture of environmental stewardship in Ghana and beyond.
The event was a part of our ongoing efforts to lead a national consciousness around tree planting, working alongside some of Ghana’s most dynamic young CEOs. This initiative not only aims to embed sustainable practices into our communities but also marks the beginning of a broader movement that we intend to expand across the African continent.
The program kicked off early in the morning, with participants arriving between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. After a brief opening prayer, we were honored with welcome messages from Mr. Richard Abbey Jnr (CEO Xo-Dus Communications), Dr. Daniel Opoku-Mensah (Executive Director/Chairman, WeCARE Earth), and the Hon. Boye Laryea (Municipal Chief Executive of Okaikwei). These leaders set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of our collective efforts in combating environmental degradation.
At the heart of the event was the tree planting ceremony, where volunteers, organized into groups, diligently planted trees across designated areas. The Municipal Chief Executive had the privilege of planting the first tree, symbolizing the start of this vital initiative.
The event received extensive media coverage, with representatives from Daily Graphic, UTV, Citi FM, Joy FM, and Ghana Web documenting and publicizing our efforts. This is part of our ongoing initiative to mobilize various aspects of the community—from churches and mosques to NGOs, civil organizations, and government agencies. The involvement of corporate entities in this initiative highlights the comprehensive nature of our mission to foster environmental responsibility, ensuring that our message reaches a wide audience and inspires others to join our cause.
We are grateful to everyone who participated in making this event a success. As we continue to lead this charge, both in Ghana and across the African continent, we remain committed to our mission of nurturing a culture of sustainability and stewardship.
Together, we are making a lasting impact—one tree at a time.
