Youth Movement for African Unity

Youth Movement for African Unity 1.0 Introduction The Youth Movement for African Unity (YMAU) was founded by Mr.Abdul-Razak Yakubu and Mr.

Clifford Owusu Gyamfi, the two Ghanaian youth have a common dream of a united Africa. The conception of the movement started on the social media.. Raison d’etre of YMAU, a message from Abdul – Razak Yakubu (Co -founder & President)

"To build a transformed and secure future, Africa desperately needs to unite by engaging its enlightened young leaders and governments across the continent towards a co

mmon goal (socio-economic development).Young leaders are found virtually in all areas of work in the world and many of them demonstrate the semblance of hope that given the right platform and the right opportunities, they can be change champions. Therefore, the time has come for the new generation of youth leaders to step forward with creative and collective strategies to address some of the continent’s leadership, management and socioeconomic challenges which would lead to a developed and unified continent. It is in this context that the Youth Movement for African Unity (YMAU) was established. As Nelson Mandela said: "Every now and then a generation is called upon to be great and the youth of today are that great generation". It is time for young Africans and well-wishers of Africa who believe that the continent can address its development challenges to join force in making this dream a reality. This is a declaration of the true hope and aspirations of the sons and daughters of Africa to rise to the task, by showing our commitment in achieving the socioeconomic development of the entire continent of Africa." OUR MOTTO:
“UNITED AS ONE, UNITED WE ACT”
“UNIS COMME UN, UNIS NOUS AGISSONS”

Comrades with the victory in Senegal. It is about time we developed our continent freely. Many of our present leaders are not still fit for purpose. They remain tools/accessories of neo-colonialism. Not independent of mind, action, and in their government policies. Some still disagree with Nkrumah's vission "that the African can manage his own affairs."
Ghana, our beloved country years after independence, remains vulnerable, significantly dependent on aid, yet many expect us to continue to sing praises for minimal effort each time. Whereas serious leaders and nations are on the move. What is with the African? Today, we are promised a Ghana Beyond Aid, and the next day, we arrive at the doors of the IMF. There is no single sector of our economy that is managed with local knowledge or expertise.

Arise !! Arise !!! let us build the Ghana we want.
