Model ECOWAS Summit The Model ECOWAS Summit is a youth-led initiative simulating ECOWAS decision-making.

Since 2014, it has equipped young leaders with diplomacy, governance, and policy skills to drive regional integration, peace, and development. The Model ECOWAS Summit is a youth-driven leadership initiative that simulates the decision-making processes of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Launched in 2014, the summit fosters regional integration, diplomacy, and governance trai

ning, equipping young leaders with the skills to navigate policy-making, conflict resolution, and economic development in West Africa. At the summit, participants take on roles as Heads of State, Ministers, and Ambassadors, engaging in high-level debates, negotiations, and policy formulation on key issues like peace and security, economic integration, and sustainable development. By immersing young leaders in real-world governance challenges, the summit strengthens their understanding of ECOWAS operations, regional cooperation, and the implementation of ECOWAS Vision 2050. Through leadership training, diplomacy exercises, and hands-on governance simulations, the summit empowers young Africans to become influential decision-makers, shaping a peaceful, prosperous, and united West Africa.

The journey has officially begun.

Today marks the official arrival day for delegates participating in the 6th Model ECOWAS Summit here in Accra, Ghana.

While some delegates arrived earlier due to varying flight schedules and long-distance travel arrangements, today officially welcomed the full gathering of young leaders, diplomats, changemakers, and future policymakers from across West Africa and beyond.

From airport arrivals to first connections and cross-border conversations, Day 1 was filled with excitement, energy, and the spirit of African unity.

Some delegates travelled for days by road and across borders just to be part of this experience — a powerful reminder that young Africans are ready to lead, collaborate, and shape the future of our region together.

This is more than a summit.
This is a movement.

Accra is ready.
West Africa is gathered.

NEWS UPDATE | 6TH MODEL ECOWAS SUMMIT

The first batch of delegates from Liberia has officially arrived in Accra, Ghana, ahead of the 6th Model ECOWAS Summit.

The delegates are among the first international participants to arrive for the highly anticipated regional youth leadership and diplomacy gathering scheduled to commence next week in Accra.

Another batch of Liberian delegates is expected to arrive tomorrow as momentum continues to build toward what promises to be one of the most impactful editions of the Model ECOWAS Summit yet.

Under the theme:
“Peace, Stability, and Social Cohesion: Unleashing the Power of Youth to Lead,”

Young leaders from across West Africa are converging in Ghana for high-level conversations, simulations, diplomacy sessions, networking, and leadership engagements focused on the future of the region.

Accra is ready.
West Africa is gathering.
