New Deal to Transform Sustainable Farming
We are proud to announce a new partnership between Govnor Inspires Agricultural Innovation Hub commission – Upper West Regional Office to expand access to fish farming, practical skills and sustainable livelihoods in our communities.
Through this partnership, the Fisheries Commission will support GIAIHub with 1,000 catfish juveniles, quality fish feed and continued technical support to establish and strengthen our fish farming initiative.
This is more than a supply of fish—it is an investment in knowledge, food security, entrepreneurship and community resilience.
The fish farming structure is proudly supported by , helping us transform an idea into a practical learning and production space for farmers and young people.
🌱 From One Fish Pond to Hundreds of New Opportunities
Our biggest goal is not simply to raise 1,000 catfish. Our goal is to multiply the knowledge and impact.
GIAIHub will use this initiative as a practical training model to equip more women farmers and young people with the skills to start small-scale fish farming using affordable, locally available and recycled materials—including wooden waste gallons converted into mini fish ponds.
The model will create a powerful fish–vegetable farming cycle:
🐟 Fish provide an affordable source of protein and nutrition.
💧 Nutrient-rich wastewater can be reused as liquid fertilizer for vegetables.
🥬 Vegetable production improves household nutrition and can generate additional income.
♻️ Waste materials are transformed into productive farming infrastructure.
💰 Farmers can diversify their livelihoods and reduce dependence on a single source of income.
This means a farmer doesn’t need a large pond or expensive infrastructure to begin. Start small. Learn the skill. Produce food. Create income. Expand.
📈 The Impact We Want to Create
The 1,000 juveniles are our starting point—but the real impact will be measured by the number of people who learn the skills, establish their own mini fish farms, improve household nutrition, generate income and inspire others to do the same.
We are building a model that can be replicated across communities in the Upper West Region and beyond.
1,000 juveniles today.
More farmers tomorrow.
More food on tables.
More income in households.
More opportunities for women and young people.
This is what agricultural innovation means to us at GIAIHub: turning limited resources into opportunities, waste into value, and knowledge into sustainable livelihoods.
