Africa requires at least an additional US$30 billion annually to achieve water security and sustainable sanitation. However, only approximately US$10–19 billion is currently invested each year.

Closing this financing gap requires stronger political commitment, innovative financing and meaningful youth participation. Investing in water means investing in health, livelihoods, climate resilience and Africa’s future.

The African Youth Water Forum is pleased to announce the African Youth Water Summit 2027, a continental gathering that will bring together youth, policymakers, water professionals, researchers, innovators and partners to advance Africa’s water-security agenda.

Theme :Youth Driving Water Security in Africa: From Voice to Action

This will be more than a summit. It will be a platform for African youth to transform ideas into solutions, strengthen partnerships and move from participation to meaningful action.

International delegates are encouraged to plan their arrival for 20–21 September 2027.
