From a TikTok Connection to a Life-Changing Link to Care ❤️

Last year, a young man contacted Auntie Linda through TikTok and shared that he was living with HIV. Instead of allowing fear or stigma to hold him back, Auntie Linda encouraged him to seek treatment and linked him to a public health facility.

He started with a one-month supply of ARVs, then moved to two months, three months, and now six-month refills- a strong indication that he is doing well on treatment and has achieved viral suppression. 🙏🏾❤️

Today, he simply wanted to say: “Thank you, Auntie Linda.”

This is why we do what we do. One connection can change a life. One person linked to care can inspire another.

HIV is treatable.

🩺 FREE COMMUNITY HEALTH SCREENING AT APENKWA, ACCRA

Auntie Linda Foundation was privileged to join the Men’s Fellowship of Eternity Presbyterian Church, Apenkwa, Accra, as part of their 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, 8th August 2026, through a free community health screening.

Over 120 community members benefited from the programme, which provided access to health screening, medical consultation, counselling and health education.

🔹 Services provided included:
• Blood Pressure checks
• Weight checks
• Random and Fasting Blood Sugar testing
• HIV testing
• Hepatitis screening
• Malaria testing
• Typhoid testing
• H. pylori testing
• Prostate screening
• Medical consultation and counselling

We were supported by two doctors—one from the church and another invited from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital—who provided medical consultations, counselling and advice to participants.

The Korle Bu Blood Bank was also present to support the programme through a blood donation exercise.

Some participants were identified with health concerns and were referred and linked to health facilities for further assessment and care.

HIV OUTREACH AT KOKOMPE

On Friday, 7th August 2026, a day before the Apenkwa programme, Auntie Linda Foundation conducted an HIV education and prevention outreach at Kokompe, Accra the busy spare-parts hub.

Many people working at Kokompe, particularly men, spend long hours working and may have limited time to visit health facilities. We therefore took HIV education and prevention services directly to them.

During the outreach:

🧪 250+ HIV self-test kits were distributed
🛡️ 1,200+ condoms were distributed
📚 300+ people received HIV education and prevention information

Several participants expressed interest in testing and encouraged us to return for more outreach activities.

We sincerely thank the Men’s Fellowship of Eternity Presbyterian Church, Apenkwa, for the invitation and partnership, and Hon. Patrick Boamah, Member of Parliament for the area, for supporting the church’s anniversary activities.

We also appreciate the doctors, laboratory professionals, Korle Bu Blood Bank, volunteers and all partners who contributed to the success of the programme.

At Auntie Linda Foundation, we believe that healthcare should not only wait for people in hospitals.

We must take health education, screening and prevention directly to where people live and work.
