Farm Visitation Report
Date: October 26, 2024
As part of our commitment to supporting entrepreneurs with disabilities, CDEPP recently conducted a farm visit to Bawdjiase, Bontrease, and Mfamfo in Ghana's Central Region. Here, we met with resilient farmers, each facing unique challenges due to acquired or congenital disabilities, who shared inspiring accounts of perseverance in their agricultural work.
Despite their disabilities, these farmers manage extensive farmland, cultivating a variety of crops including cocoa, coconut, cassava, cocoyam, sweet potatoes, maize, and pineapple. Their contributions play a vital role in strengthening Ghana’s agricultural sector.
During the visit, the farmers identified key needs to sustain and expand their operations. They expressed a need for motorbikes to improve accessibility to their fields and requested support in connecting with dependable buyers for their produce.
