Junior Achievement Africa

Junior Achievement Africa Junior Achievement (JA) Africa prepares Africa's youth for the 21st century workforce JA Africa's work focuses on the economic empowerment of Africa's youth.

We bridge the gap between what students learn in school and what they need to be successful professionals in adulthood. JA focuses on three key areas: Entrepreneurship, Work Readiness and Financial Literacy. Our experiential programs make these concepts come alive for students, using volunteers from the professional world to coach and mentor them as they consider their future careers. We believe t

hat entrepreneurship is a key to enabling the burgeoning and marginalized youth population in Africa. But we also believe in preparing young people to be successful either as employees who add value to their employers or as entrepreneurs who create jobs for themselves and others.

Behind every milestone at JA Africa is a community of people who believed in it.

This past year, our partners helped us reach a remarkable moment: 1.6M+ learning experiences delivered to young people across 23 African countries. That number belongs to them as much as to us.

From individual donors to our corporate and foundation partners, every contribution became a classroom reached, a skill gained, and a young African stepping into a world of possibilities. Your generosity did not just fund programs. It opened futures.

To each of our FY2025 partners, thank you. Your commitment is building the boundless potential of young people across the continent, and we are proud to do this work alongside you.

Have you listened to the podcast yet?

Our President & CEO, Simi Nwogugu, sat down with EduCatalyst Africa around a single conviction: every girl in Africa deserves to dream bigger than her circumstances.

That belief is what powers The 10 Million African Girls Campaign, our movement to reach 10 million African girls and unlock a world of possibilities for each one.

A few months ago, our President and CEO, Simi Nwogugu, sat down for a conversation that began with a single conviction: that every girl in Africa deserves the chance to dream bigger than her circumstances.

It is a conviction more than two decades in the making. Across classrooms, boardrooms, and communities, Simi has watched what happens when a young person, especially a young woman, is finally given the tools, the confidence, and the belief that her future is hers to build. That belief became , our movement to reach 10 million African girls and unlock a world of possibilities for each one.

In this episode, she shares the vision behind it, the obstacles still standing in the way, and the quiet, powerful moments that prove change is already underway.
Listen to the full conversation, and let it remind you of what becomes possible when we invest in young people.

If it moves you the way it moved us, take the next step with us: sign the 10MAG pledge and help us build the boundless potential of Africa's girls.

It started with an idea: that every young African deserves the chance to build their own future. Five years ago, that idea reached a modest number of classrooms. Today, it reaches across the continent.

Our FY2025 Annual Impact Report captures that journey. Not just how far the work has grown, but who it has touched. A student who pitched her first business idea. A young person who walked into an interview with new confidence. A teacher who watched their classroom come alive.

Every learning experience in this report is a young African stepping into a world of possibilities, more equipped and more ready to shape what comes next. The growth is striking, but the real story is the people behind it.

Swipe through to see the highlights, then dive into the full story.

Winners! Tech for Women Initiative 2025

JA Zambia has been recognized at the Tech Trends Zambia Awards 2025, winning the Tech for Women Initiative Award alongside its partner, Stanbic Bank Zambia, for the Girls Lead Camp.

Launched in October 2025, the Girls Lead Camp is JA Zambia's flagship girls' empowerment initiative. In a single, action-packed day, it brought together young women from 10 secondary schools across Lusaka for leadership workshops, confidence-building exercises, and conversations with women leaders from the private and public sectors.

This award belongs to every girl who showed up ready to lead, and to a partnership that believes in their boundless potential. Thank you, Stanbic Bank Zambia, for standing with JA Zambia to open a world of possibilities for young women across the continent.

The world is reminding us what we have always known: nature holds the answers.

On World Environment Day, as the world reflects on the theme Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future, we are reminded that the solutions to our planet's greatest challenges already exist in the world around us. The question is whether we are paying attention.

At last year's JA Africa Company of the Year Competition, young entrepreneurs across the continent took up the theme Action for Climate Transformation and ran with it. They designed businesses, pitched ideas, and proposed solutions rooted in the very environments they grew up in. They were not waiting for someone else to act. They were already building.

That is the energy this day calls for. Young Africans who are inspired by nature, committed to the climate, and ready to shape the future.
