World Vision Ghana's Faith and Development Unit recently convened a three-day Consultative Workshop in Accra, bringing together children ministry leaders, pastors, theological seminary participants and staff to shape the future of child-centred Creation Care.

Through Bible study, theological reflection and collaborative framework development, participants reviewed the Creation Care Guide for Children and developed practical pathways for integrating environmental stewardship into church ministry and theological education.

Key outcomes included:
✅ A draft Creation Care Framework for Children
✅ Six theological affirmations for child-focused teaching
✅ Practical church actions such as tree-planting on birthdays and reducing single-use plastics
✅ An agreed roadmap for validation and piloting across churches

Together, we are equipping children to learn, lead and influence positive environmental action while empowering churches to institutionalise Creation Care as a vital part of discipleship.

🌟 22 Years of Transforming Lives in West Gonja!

For 22 years, World Vision Ghana has walked alongside the people of West Gonja, driven by one vision: life in all its fullness for every child.

Over the past 22 years, World Vision Ghana, with the generous support of World Vision USA and thousands of sponsors, has invested in interventions that have transformed the lives of 77,826 people.

Together, we have:

Reached and touched the lives of 77,826 beneficiaries

Provided safe drinking water to over 45,000 people through 106 boreholes and 11 solar‑powered systems.

Helped 43 communities achieve Open Defecation Free status, reduced sanitation and hygiene related infections.

Supported 48 schools with hygiene facilities.

Established 289 Savings for Transformation (S4T) groups

Increased child protection awareness from 24% to 70%

Raised birth registration levels to 89%

Trained local artisans to sustain sanitation infrastructure

These outcomes demonstrate the power of long-term partnerships, community ownership, and integrated programming in creating sustainable development impact.

While the sponsorship programme concludes, World Vision Ghana remains committed to sustaining and expanding these gains through the Universal WASH Programme and the 2030 Project.

Today, as part of activities marking , World Vision Ghana's Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs Manager, Samuel Gmalu, and BORDER Project Manager, Perpetual Yirenkyiwaa Diabene, joined TV3 Ghana's flagship morning programme, New Day, to highlight the organization's humanitarian and development efforts across Ghana.

The discussion focused on the importance of strengthening community resilience, empowering local actors, and ensuring that vulnerable children and families are supported before, during, and after crises. Through initiatives such as the BORDER Project and other humanitarian interventions, World Vision Ghana continues to work alongside communities, government agencies, and partners to create lasting impact and hope.

World Vision Ghana, in partnership with Ministry of Health, Ghana, Ghana Health Service Neglected Tropical Diseases Programme (NTDP), has trained more than 270 Community Health Officers (CHOs), supervisors and district stakeholders to strengthen the detection, referral and management of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).

The training forms part of the Sustaining Gains in Elimination of NTDs in Ghana Project and focuses on integrating NTD services into routine Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) delivery through the Integrated Home Visit Register (IHVR) and Free Primary Health Care E-Tracker.

By strengthening disease surveillance, improving referral pathways, enhancing NHIS enrolment for vulnerable populations and promoting high-quality data management, this initiative contributes to more resilient health systems and advances Ghana's progress towards Universal Health Coverage.

We extend our sincere appreciation to World Vision USA, Ghana Health Service National NTD Programme under the Public Health Division and the Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PPME), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS Ghana), the Department of Social Welfare, all participants, facilitators and partners for their commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind.

World Vision Ghana, in partnership with the Ghana Health Service and Flora by Delta Paper Mill reached 250 mothers, caregivers, and children in Damongo (Savannah Region) and Agortime-Dohia and Segbale (Volta Region) with essential hygiene support and health education.

Through this corporate social responsibility initiative, 1,500 baby diapers were distributed alongside practical sessions on hygiene, infant care, and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices. The team also visited the Children's Ward and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Anne's Catholic Hospital in Damongo.

For mothers like Nafisa Laila, the support brought both relief and encouragement: "Seeing my child playing and happily holding the diapers brought a smile to my face and gave me hope."

Together with our partners, we remain committed to improving child health, strengthening caregiver practices, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
