Our Health Technical Program Manager, ๐€๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐›๐ž๐ง๐š ๐๐ฎ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐›๐š ๐ƒ๐š๐๐ณ๐ข๐ž,will be at the 7th Micronutrient Forum Global Conference in Accra from 28 September to 1 October 2026.

This year's theme, Nutrition at the Frontiers of a Changing Environment, speaks directly to the work World Vision Ghana does every day with communities. Climate pressures, funding cuts and conflict are all affecting how families feed their children. We know that community-led systems and local adaptation make a real difference.

Awurabena joins the World Vision West Africa delegation to share what we have learned on maternal and child nutrition, learn from partners across the region, and push for commitments that reach every child.

Fedorah joins the World Vision delegation from Ghana, Mali, Sierra Leone and our West Africa Regional Office as we share evidence on what it takes to keep children well nourished in a changing environment. This includes our e-poster, developed with ACF, on strengthening RUTF supply chains and advocacy for continuity of care in child wasting across West Africa.

Every child deserves adequate nutrition, and community-led systems are what make that progress last.

World Vision Ghana is strengthening the capacity of its staff in the field of Health and Nutrition, through a ๐“๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐“๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  (๐“๐“๐‚) Core Project Model Training under the CARE Integrated Programme Framework (CARE IPF).

The training is equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills to support community-level maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition interventions, including timed household visits, social and behaviour change communication, identification of health and nutrition risks, appropriate referrals and follow-up.

Through interactive discussions, practical exercises and role-plays, participants are gaining hands-on experience in engaging families, identifying pregnant women early, recognising especially vulnerable households and tailoring counselling and support to their specific needs.

The capacity building will strengthen staff's ability to apply the Time Targeted Counselling (TTC) approach within the new strategy and Universal Service Coverage for Health & Nutrition, contributing to improved health and nutrition outcomes for children and families, particularly the most vulnerable.

Dr. Joyce Aryee, National NTD Ambassador and the Intra-Country Coordinating Committee (ICCC) for NTDs, convened a High-Level Private Sector Breakfast Meeting on 10 September 2026 at Fiesta Royal Hotel, Accra.

The engagement brought together representatives, CEOs and seniors from Telecommunication companies, Ghana Chamber of Mines, Mining companies, pharmaceutical companies, Media organizations, Food processing industries, Oil and gas companies, Banking and financial institutions, development partners and technical experts to strengthen collaboration and mobilize sustainable support towards NTD elimination in Ghana by 2030.

Discussions highlighted the critical role of the private sector through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), sustainable financing, innovation, technology, expertise and in-kind support to strengthen NTD interventions and reduce their social and economic impact.

Ghana has made significant progress, including the elimination of trachoma, Guinea worm and sleeping sickness as public health problems. Sustaining these gains, however, requires continued national ownership and collective action.
The engagement therefore provided an important platform for Corporate Ghana to identify practical areas of support, strengthen public-private partnerships and translate commitment into action towards a Ghana free from NTDs.

Strengthening National Commitment to End NTDs

Under the theme โ€œStrengthening National Commitment and Sustainable Financing for a Ghana Free from NTDs and the WHO 2030 NTD Roadmap,โ€ World Vision Ghana in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service organized a high-level ministerial engagement to strengthen multisectoral collaboration and secure high-level commitments towards the sustainable control and elimination of NTDs in Ghana by 2030.

The engagement brought together Ministers, Chief Directors and senior representatives from key government ministries and institutions, with the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service through the Neglected Tropical Diseases Programme (NTDP) and Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, National NTD Ambassador to discuss sustainable financing, coordinated action and stronger national ownership of the NTD elimination agenda.

Delivering remarks at the engagement, Mr. Joshua Roland Baidoo, Interim National Director, World Vision Ghana, highlighted the importance of sustained national commitment and collective action in accelerating Ghanaโ€™s progress towards an NTD-free future.

Ghana has made significant strides, including the elimination of Guinea Worm, Trachoma and Sleeping Sickness as public health problems. Sustaining this progress will require continued political commitment, domestic financing and coordinated action across sectors.

Together, we can leave no one behind and move closer to a Ghana free from NTDs by 2030. ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒ
