We will do this through Training, Awards, Research, Publications and Advisory Activities in order to improve on the legal, social and ethical behaviours and practices of corp The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Foundation Ghana emerged as a result of the idea conceived by Mediadotkom, a marketing communications company, to institute an Awards Scheme to honour distinguished businesses, organi
sations and individuals in the area of CSR in quarter four of 2010. The Awards List was to be made up of select corporate entities and individuals whose contributions had been exceptional in the corporate and social landscape in the preceding year. Essentially the two major criteria for selection were to be the responsiveness of the prospective awardees to the statutory and regulatory obligations and also their commitment to ethical and socially responsible corporate practices. It is expected that these activities would have impacted on the quality of life of their communities and/or stakeholders. Through various deliberations with distinguished individuals in business, industry and academia, Mediadotkom put together a team to form a Governing Council for the CSR Awards concept. Following further consultations, the team decided to expand the initial concept and establish a fully-fledged foundation, with the responsibilities of undertaking Advocacy, Research, Publications, Lectures, Outreach and Advisory Activities, Training, Seminars, Workshops, CSR Auditing, among others. In quarter one of 2011, CSR Foundation Ghana was registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with the following objects:

c. Advocacy on Corporate Social Responsibility
