π₯ GTF VEEP ATTENDS WT GRAND PRIX IN ITALY
Vice President of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) Charles Tsibo Cromwell attended the World Taekwondo π₯ Grand Prix at Rome from June 4, through 9, 2026.
The Foro Italico Sports Complex hosted the 60th anniversary of the traditional Korean martial art, which saw the World's top ranked athletes compete for laurels and prestige.
The Vice President, was able to assess the new technological innovation to the combat sport, with the introduction of sensing gloves which enables the automatic detection of body strikes.
The new revolution in the judging system for Olympic Taekwondo, a single corner judge was enough.
Mr Cromwell used the opportunity to also interact with the World Taekwondo President Dr Choue Chungwon, WT Secretary General, Jeongkang Seo, Vice President of Asia Taekwondo, Mr Yang Jinbang among other notable dignitaries in Taekwondo.
The brief meet ups with the top heirachy of Taekwondo was to create a pathway for Ghanaian athletes to get abreast with the new scoring system.
The Grand Prix saw para and youth also compete.
