On World Environment Day 2026, the World Agriculture Forum (WAF), in collaboration with the , convened a global Policy Dialogue on "Plant-Based Pathways for Protein Security: Aligning Nutrition and Environmental Sustainability!"

With over 120+ participants joining from across regions and sectors, the discussion explored how food systems can better support climate action, public health, food security, and environmental sustainability.

From planetary boundaries and policy innovation to institutional menu change, industry investment, and scaling plant-based proteins in emerging economies, the conversation highlighted both the challenges and opportunities ahead. A recurring message throughout the dialogue was clear: meaningful change requires collaboration, awareness, supportive policies, and practical solutions that work for farmers, consumers, and communities alike.

A sincere thank you to our distinguished speakers and participants for contributing their insights and perspectives.

Our food system is at a breaking point.

It drives climate change, biodiversity loss, and global health crises — yet we have the power to change it. Shifting toward plant-based solutions is one of the fastest, most effective ways to reduce emissions and build a more sustainable future.

That’s why the Plant Based Treaty matters. It’s a global call to transform how we produce and consume food — for people, animals, and the planet.

💚 Be part of the solution.
Endorse the today and support real food system change.
