Ghana Philanthropy Forum

Ghana Philanthropy Forum Some of these charitable activities are noticed, but others are in the shadows- un-noticed! It is hoped that through this forum a lot more would be unearthed.

A platform for long-term strategic reflections where development practitioners come together and interface with the wider civil society as well as other actors in the nonprofit sector to deliberate and generate knowledge and options for development. The role of philanthropic activities to good governance and development is widely acknowledged by citizens, governments and the international developm

ent community. In a world characterized by unequal development, social, economic and political injustices, conflict and marginalization, many non-governmental organizations and charitable groups have arisen to challenge the status quo and provide hope to millions of people. Despite the important roles NGOs play in the development process, they are also faced with a number of challenges which raises concern about their sustainability. The National Philanthropy Forum thus defines itself as a national platform where participants share, reflect and act to strengthen the role of indigenous Philanthropy in influencing development outcomes.

Last Thursday, 27th November 2025, the University of Cape Coast witnessed a beautiful and inspiring moment as the Ghana Philanthropy Forum, the 63rd Students' Representative Council (SRC) President, Mr. Kwame Ntiamoah Ntim together with the Students’ Financial Support Office, formally launched the Campus Philanthropy Fund. The event brought together traditional leaders, university authorities, students leaders, students and partners who all share one vision supporting brilliant but needy students to thrive and succeed.
The launch was filled with heartfelt messages, words of encouragement and a renewed call for collective responsibility. Voices from the University leadership, including the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Head of the Students’ Financial Support Office, SRC student leadership affirmed their commitment to ensuring that this Fund becomes a strong pillar for student support on campus. Their presence alone strengthened the confidence in the future of this initiative.
The unveiling of the Fund symbolised more than an announcement it marked the beginning of a growing culture of giving among individuals. It reminded all of us that philanthropy is all about compassion and shared progress that has always been part of us as Ghanaians.
As the Campus Philanthropy Fund begins its journey, we extend an open invitation to partners, collaborators, institutions and individuals who believe in the power of education and equitable access. Your support will help build a steady and sustainable resource that changes lives and opens doors for students who need it most.
Together, we can ease the burden of financial hardship and give every student a fair chance to rise.
Present: Prof. Daniel Apaak, Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Ben Ocra, President of the Ghana Philanthropy Forum, Mr. Joseph Baah of the Ghana Philanthropy Forum, Dr. Grace Mensah. Head, Students' Financial Support Office, UCC, Nana kwesi Egyin ll Nyimfahen of Oguaa Traditional Area, 63rd Students' Representative Council (SRC) President, Kwame Ntiamoah Ntim
Join us in strengthening the Campus Philanthropy Fund.
Let’s build hope. Let’s build opportunity.
Let’s build the future, one student at a time.
