✨ : ADEA Triennale Conference 2025

We were deeply honoured to welcome Her Excellency Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana 🇬🇭, to our exhibition booth during the ADEA Triennale Conference.

Our team — Abena Anim-Adjei (Youth Engagement Coordinator), Edna Ahiagbenu (Education Specialist, Lot 7A, EOF) , and Regina Asamoah (Communications and Influencing Specialist )— had the privilege of sharing Plan International's impactful work in education, with a special focus on empowering girls and advancing gender equality.

We also took the opportunity to present our advocacy messages developed for the Triennale — championing inclusive, quality education for all, especially girls.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do: to inspire change, influence policy, and amplify the voices of girls and young women across Africa. 🌍💪🎓

✨ Exactly a week ago, 15-year-old Beatrice from the North East Region, who currently serves as the Speaker of the West Mamprusi Municipality Children’s Parliament, made history as she took over the role of Hon. George Opare Addo , the first-ever Minister appointed to the newly created Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.

In a remarkable show of leadership and commitment to youth inclusion, Hon. Opare Addo graciously allowed Beatrice to symbolically assume his position — a powerful gesture that underscores his support for girls’ empowerment and leadership.

As part of her takeover duties, Beatrice also paid a courtesy call to the National Youth Authority (NYA) — an agency under the Ministry — to engage on issues affecting young people across Ghana.

This inspiring forms part of Plan International Ghana 's celebration of the 2025 International Day of the Girl, which aims to amplify girls’ voices, promote their leadership, and end child marriage.

🎥 Watch this video capturing Beatrice’s bold and inspiring moments in leadership.

👏 Special thanks to Hon. George Opare Addo and everyone who made this historic day possible — continuing to champion the rights and leadership of girls across Ghana.
