Women Media and Change

Women Media and Change WOMEC was born out of a vision to bring about change in women’s lack of awareness about the power of the media in shaping and pursuing their goals.

Women Media and Change (WOMEC) is a national organization founded in 1994 duly registered under the laws of the republic of Ghana in 2000. WOMEC recognises that women’s issues are multi-dimensional and are impacted upon by factors such as education, information and technology, health, environment, housing and land rights as well as other human rights issues. WOMEC is committed to giving women a pu

blic voice through the mass media to expand their participation in decision-making. WOMEC seeks to position itself as the leading national centre for facilitating advocacy for gender balance, and empowering women to have control of their lives. VISION
To bridge the gap between rhetoric and action in addressing issues on gender and empowering women to gain public voice and visibility as well as have control over their lives.
