Who rules the world?
The last 25 years have seen great advances in gender equality, according to a new study by UNESCO. Quite apart from the appointment of Kamala Harris as vice-president elect of the USA, more girls have enrolled into secondary and further education, globally. We're talking about an increase of 180 million girls, with three times as many university applications by women.

Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and India have seen the biggest improvements.

Building on the 2020 Global Education Monitoring Report, this report investigates how inclusion in education can advance gender equality in and through education, which is critical to make progress towards gender equality in society. The goal of gender equality is, of course, not new.
