On Monday, June 22, 2026, upon an invitation by CDD-Ghana - Ghana Center for Democratic Development , the team participated in a Forum on Political Campaign Finance Reforms in Ghana, a progressive forum on Political Campaign Finance reforms in Ghana
The Forum brought together university students, youth groups, and fellow Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to address the monetization of Ghanaian politics.
The event opened with a foundational presentation detailing the concept of the proposed bill of the reform, which seeks to introduce a strict cap on political campaign expenditures.
Following the presentation, the forum transitioned into a highly interactive discussion. University students and youth leaders actively engaged with the material, raising critical questions regarding the current landscape of campaign financing, the intense power struggles between political parties, and the influence of wealthy sponsors on individual candidates.
Participants ultimately concluded that passing and enforcing this bill is a vital step forward for Ghana's democracy. By limiting campaign spending, the reform aims to effectively curb electoral corruption and eliminate the financial marginalization that currently prevents youth, women, and less-funded candidates from competing on a level playing field.
