*Ink Ghana Unveils Independent Poll Results on NDC Ayawaso East Constituency Primaries*
Ink Ghana, an independent civic engagement organization, has announced the results of its comprehensive poll conducted over the past week among National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates in the Ayawaso East Constituency, ahead of the forthcoming parliamentary by-election primaries.
This poll, intended to serve as an objective decision-making resource rather than a propaganda tool, engaged 1,006 delegates. Of these, 483 participated via phone interviews, yielding a response rate of 48.01%.
Key Findings:
β’ H.E. Baba Jamal has emerged as the leading candidate, garnering 24.8% support (120 delegates).
β’ Hajia Amina Ahmed follows with 9.1% support (44 delegates).
β’ Dr. Yakubu Azindow secured 3.1% support (15 delegates), indicating moderate backing.
β’ A substantial majority, 62.9% (304 delegates), remain undecided or chose not to disclose their preference, highlighting the competitive nature of the race.
Delegate Sentiment:
Despite a moderate response rate, the poll reveals that nearly two-thirds of the contacted delegates were reticent about their voting intentions. Among those who declared, H.E. Baba Jamal leads with a comfortable margin, while support for other candidates remains relatively low. This indicates that the outcome will likely hinge on the efforts to persuade undecided or undisclosed delegates.
Conclusion:
This poll provides a credible snapshot of delegate sentiment in Ayawaso East ahead of the NDC primaries. Ink Ghana reaffirms that this exercise is a neutral decision-making tool aimed at strengthening transparency and democratic participation.
