We were recognized at the Daring Women Summit in Big Ada by the Ada Traditional Leaders and the Tapioca Foundation and this one means a lot.

Since 2018, we’ve been working in Ada and its surrounding villages, reaching thousands through our initiatives:

✨ The Green Period Project – providing school girls with menstrual cups and the education they need to manage their periods with dignity.

✨ Teen Mothers Back to School – supporting young girls who dropped out due to pregnancy with counseling, family reintegration, and a pathway back to school.

✨ Red Revolution – training and employing young women in sewing, giving them income opportunities through tote bags and menstrual cup pouches.

This recognition hits differently because it comes from the very community we serve.

Our work is being seen. It is being felt. And it matters.

At Kyereh Foundation, we are committed to influencing policies that support the education and overall well being of the girl child.
Good menstrual health practices play a vital role in a girl’s academic growth, helping her stay in school, participate fully, and thrive.

This interview reveals just how difficult it is for school going girls in deprived communities to manage their periods. Many are forced to rely on inappropriate and unsafe materials, putting their health, education, and dignity at risk.

Menstrual health management is a human right not a privilege.
No girl should have to choose between attending school and managing her period safely. Until menstrual health is accessible and stigma-free for all, our work is far from done.

Green period solutions remain at the heart of The Kyereh Foundation’s work. For the past 8 years, sustainability has guided our approach to tackling period poverty, especially where single-use pads are unaffordable.

In the last 12 months, we distributed 1,100 menstrual cups creating measurable economic and environmental impact.

With each cup lasting up to 10 years, the results below show what this means in real terms.

This year, we’ve made meaningful progress at The Kyereh Foundation thanks to the support of our donors and partners.

One of our biggest achievements has been recording zero cases of child pregnancy in schools that previously reported high numbers each academic year. This is the impact your support creates.

As we prepare for our final outreach of the year, you can also be part of this change.

Menstrual health remains a crucial issue for many school-aged girls in Ghana.
Too many girls miss school simply because they can’t afford disposable pads a reality that threatens their right to education.
That’s why we’re committed to supporting girls from low-income backgrounds with sustainable period products, helping them stay confident, healthy, and in school.
