The most prominent Hadith regarding the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah was narrated by Ibn Abbas (RA). The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: [1]

"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days."

The companions asked, "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?"

He replied, "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and his wealth, and does not return with any of that." (Sahih al-Bukhari) [1]

Recommended Acts of Worship

Because these days carry multiplied rewards, Muslims are encouraged to increase their good deeds.

Key practices

Fasting: It is highly recommended to fast during the first nine days, with special emphasis on the Day of Arafah (the 9th of Dhul Hijjah). Fasting on this day expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.

Dhikr and Takbeer: Reciting Tahmeed (Alhamdulillah), Tahleel (La ilaha illallah), and Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) abundantly throughout these days.

Qurbani (Sacrifice): Fulfilling the act of animal sacrifice to honor the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

General Good Deeds: Increasing acts of charity, reading the Quran, praying voluntary (Nafl) prayers, and maintaining family ties.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: ''Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi'' and ''Subhan Allah Al-`Azim."

Hadith on Salawat: Dedicating supplications to bless the Prophet 《SAWS》

Ubayy ibn Ka’b reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, I send blessings upon you often. How many of my prayers should be for blessings upon you?” The Prophet said, “As you wish.” I said, “A fourth?” The Prophet said, “As you wish, but more is better for you.” I said, “A half?” The Prophet said, “As you wish, but more is better for you.” I said, “Two-thirds?” The Prophet said, “As you wish, but more is better for you.” I said, “Should I say all of my prayers for blessings upon you?” The Prophet said, “If so, your worries will be resolved, and your sins will be forgiven.”

عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
«لَقِيتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِي فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، أَقْرِئْ أُمَّتَكَ مِنِّي السَّلاَمَ، وَأَخْبِرْهُمْ أَنَّ الجَنَّةَ طَيِّبَةُ التُّرْبَةِ عَذْبَةُ الْمَاءِ، وَأَنَّهَا قِيعَانٌ، وَأَنَّ غِرَاسَهَا سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ».

Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I met Ibrāhīm (Abraham) on the night I was taken for a journey, and he said: O Muhammad, convey my greetings of peace to your Ummah and tell them that Paradise has pure soil and sweet water. It is vast plain lands and its seedlings are: Subhānallāh (glory be to Allah), Al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah), La ilāha illallāh (there is no god but Allah), and Allāhu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)."

Explanation
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) states that he met Abraham, Al-Khalīl, (peace be upon him) on the Night of Isrā’ and Mi'rāj, and he said to him: O Muhammad, convey my greetings of peace to your Ummah and inform them that Paradise has a pleasant soil and sweet water that is not salty. Tell them that Paradise is spacious, plain, and treeless. Its seedlings are the good words, which are the lasting righteous deeds: Subhānallāh (glory be to Allah), Al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah), La ilāha illallāh (there is no god but Allah), and Allāhu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest). Whenever the Muslim says and repeats them, a seedling is planted for him in Paradise.

Benefits from the Hadith

Encouraging the act of making Dhikr recurrently to increase the seedlings planted in Paradise.

The superiority of the Muslim Nation, as Abraham (peace be upon him) sent them his greeting of peace.

Abraham (peace be upon him) encouraged the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him) to remember Allah Almighty frequently.

At-Taybi said: Paradise is vast plain lands; then Allah Almighty created therein, by His favor, trees and palaces according to the worshippers' deeds. Every worshipper will get what has been specifically prepared for him because of his deeds, and since Allah Almighty has made it easy for him to perform the deeds that he was created for to get rewarded, therefore, He considers him like the one who plants such trees

Narrated Ibn `Umar:

While `Umar bin Al-Khattab was standing and delivering the sermon on a Friday, one of the companions of the Prophet, who was one of the foremost Muhajirs (emigrants) came. `Umar said to him, "What is the time now?" He replied, "I was busy and could not go back to my house till I heard the Adhan. I did not perform more than the ablution." Thereupon `Umar said to him, "Did you perform only the ablution although you know that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) used to order us to take a bath (on Fridays)?"

Pope Leo XIV — born in Chicago, the first American and first Augustinian pope in Church history — touched down in Algiers as part of an 11-day, four-country tour of Africa. His first major stop was the Grand Mosque of Algiers, the third-largest mosque in the world. He removed his shoes at the entrance, walked inside, and spent nearly 10 minutes in silent reflection beside the mosque's imam.

On the flight home, Leo XIV told reporters that Christians and Muslims can coexist peacefully — and he pointed to Algeria and Lebanon as communities that have made it work. He urged Catholics to approach Islam with less fear and more openness, framing the visit as a signal about the direction of his papacy, not just a diplomatic gesture.

Not everyone is celebrating. Conservative Catholics say this kind of outreach glosses over real theological and geopolitical tensions between the two faiths. They argue that coexistence messaging at the highest level of the Church risks papering over serious doctrinal differences.

Leo XIV's answer was essentially this moment. He walked in anyway.
