World Education Ghana is a field office of World Education, Inc., a non-profit organisation based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Registered as a private voluntary organisation, it has worked in more than 50 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as in the United States. nnovative approaches that integrate technology to promote individual and collective change through education. At World Education, we ensure that more people around the world have access to learning—with a strong focus on gender equality. Our participatory approaches facilitate joint problem‐solving processes and contribute to long‐term sustainability by fostering local ownership, building on existing programs and systems, and promoting collaboration and sharing of expertise among program stakeholders. We partner with private, public, and non-governmental organizations and we pay attention to the cultural, linguistic, geographic, and economic context, supporting effective local management and promoting long‐term partnerships among local organizations. World Education has long maintained a strong presence in West Africa, with a significant program portfolio in Ghana since 2001. World Education strengthens the capacity local organizations to more effectively plan, design, and implement innovative HIV/AIDS program activities, supports the retention in school of vulnerable girls and boys through scholarships and mentoring, provides functional literacy to adults and youth in cocoa growing areas, designs and implements technology based applications to support information dissemination and learning. WEI also supports the implementation of health systems strengthening programs. WEI equips local partner organizations with technical, management, and financial skills and strengthens networks with key local leaders, government, and policy officials whose support is critical to large-scale, long-term success.
