If I’ve said anything that contradicts the claims of the regime institution, they are welcome to challenge my facts—no lies, no evasions. Go ahead and just try me!

On Thursday, we submitted a letter to the Inspector General of Police, officially notifying him of the cancellation of our upcoming protest at the Right to Information Commission headquarters.

This decision was made following a bilateral meeting with the Head of Legal and Research and his team at the Commission’s headquarters, during which they acknowledged the concerns that prompted our plan for a peaceful protest. They assured us that an amicable resolution to the issues we raised would be reached in the coming days.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who supported us during this challenging phase of our advocacy. This situation was intended to change the course of our movement, and we are progressing with determination.

No one wishes for their partner or child to be an activist. In the past few months, I haven’t hugged, cuddled, or kissed my son. Why? Because the emotions that come with it might shake my determination to keep fighting. This has been the most heartbreaking and challenging period of my life, yet I’m still moving forward.

The Inspector General of Police acknowledged receipt of our petition submitted on 11th September 2024 in a letter dated 12th September 2024. Yesterday, he finally released one of the police investigation reports concerning the criminal incident of 30th December 2023, which was originally dated 23rd May 2024. This comes after nine months of withholding the information, despite multiple directives from the Right to Information Commission for its release, which he had previously ignored.

Although the report contains several false narratives, it signifies a step forward. One of our key demands in the petition has been addressed. Our legal team is currently reviewing the report and will challenge its content with direct evidence through the proper channels in the coming days.

What stands out most in the report is that it was signed by COP Christian Tetteh Yohonu, who appears to have acted more like a defense lawyer for the accused than a police officer. This raises serious concerns about the integrity of the Police Management Board (POMAB) and its potential collusion with criminal elements. We anticipate significant developments ahead, and those responsible will be held accountable.

We will make the report public in the coming days, once our lawyers have filed our formal disputes. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us in this fight for justice. Rest assured, justice will be served, and those who have violated our constitution will be held to account, this is a statement that comes with a promise.
