FROM EIGHT UNIVERSITIES TO ONE CHAMPION: HOW FOGET IS RAISING GHANA'S NEXT GENERATION OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERS
Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS) has been crowned champions of the 2026 FOGET Inter-University Debate Championship, following an outstanding performance in the Grand Finale against the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The Championship Organised by the Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET), on Saturday 1st August, 2026 at Golden Escape Hotel Dansoman, Accra - Ghana.
The championship brought together FOGET Ambassadors from eight universities across Ghana to debate pressing national issues while promoting leadership, critical thinking, and purpose-driven engagement among young people.
The competition featured representatives from Accra Technical University (ATU), University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), KNUST, and EUHS.
The greatest achievement was not the trophy. It was witnessing young leaders confidently engage complex national issues with evidence, conviction, respect for opposing views, and a shared commitment to Ghana's future. These are the very qualities that define transformational leadership.
The Grand Finale was expertly moderated by Mr. Prosper Dan Afetsi, President of FOGET, and adjudicated by an eminent panel comprising Dr. Aaron Adjei (Senior Lecturer, Central University), Daniel Bonsu-Afriyie (Educator and Youth Mentor), and Agbemabiese Bennett Yao (Educational Psychologist and Transformational Educator).
At FOGET, the Inter-University Debate Championship is not merely an annual competition, it is a leadership development platform.
Through our growing network of FOGET Ambassadors, we are intentionally investing in university students by creating opportunities that sharpen their minds, strengthen their character, and prepare them to become ethical leaders, policy thinkers, entrepreneurs, and nation builders.
Because when young people discover purpose, they begin to influence institutions.
When they develop the courage to think critically, they begin to transform communities.
And when they are equipped to lead with integrity, they become the generation that changes nations.
Congratulations to Entrance University of Health Sciences, our worthy champions, and to every participating university for demonstrating that the future of Ghana is brightest when its young people are empowered to lead.
The conversation continues. The leadership journey continues. The mission continues.
