Emma Ofosua is a West African writer, cultural curator, and performance poet whose work explores identity, culture, memory, and the resilience of African women. She is the author of I Wish You Courage in the Night Season and founder of the All-African Women Poetry Festival, a UNESCO- and British Council-partnered platform amplifying women’s voices across Africa and the diaspora. As Managing Editor of Hadithi Magazine and creative lead of Tuniq Africa and its foundation, she promotes cultural entrepreneurship and literacy advocacy. Recognized among the Top 100 Writers, she received the Most Promising Writer Award at the Pa Gya Literary Festival. Her poem Reclamation was nominated for Best of the Net 2024, and her debut fiction appeared in the Perfect Place Anthology in 2025.

Beah Batakou is the writing name of Abena Awuku-Larbi, a poet based in Accra. She writes about the coast of Ghana, about extraction, faith, and the labour of women. In 2025 she completed a residency at the Watermill Center, where she wrote the manuscript Scriptures for the Disinherited. She curates poetry for Nenta Journal, and she leads the Happy Monthlies Project, which addresses period poverty through communal song and visual-textual practice. A lawyer by training, she works in energy and governance, and the same attention to how language names and holds power runs through her poems and her practice.
