Join us for the opening of the second edition of this arthouse game residency—part of the GamesConnect AFRICA Initiative by Goethe-Institut SSA.

Meet this year’s residents:
🇦🇴 Jamil Osmar Ramos
🇸🇳 Mame Faty Kane

They’ll be sharing what they’ll be working on—and the community’s skills may be key! From game devs and programmers to musicians, drummers, sound designers, and more, your expertise might help shape their final projects. 🎨🎶🎧

We’re also launching the Library of Things: VR Workshop Edition—a new resource for immersive creation.

The Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Component invites visual artists and cultural professionals to apply for the WP4 Visual Arts grant - Lot 1: Co-creation, Co-production and Dissemination.

The grant supports cross-continental visual arts teams co-creating and publicly presenting new work - funding the full artistic process from concept development and production to presentation.

🎮 ANNOUNCEMENT!
We are thrilled to share the names of the selected artists and arthouse game developers for the 2026 Playful Obscura Residency in Accra, Ghana!
This year's open call saw a massive response with 77 applications from 16 different African countries.
✨ Meet our 2026 Residents: Mame Faty Kane from Dakar, Senegal and Jamil Osmar Ramos from Luanda, Angola
For 3 weeks, these residents will dive into an intensive program at the intersection of games, art, and technology, supported by a €1,000 production budget and a €300 stipend.
The artists will be provided with dedicated living and workspaces to foster collaboration while engaging with the local community through workshops and open studio visits.
Follow along as they push the boundaries of experimental playful media and arthouse games in the heart of Accra!

Organized by Goethe-Institut, Leti Arts, and A MAZE.

The session covers the most important steps: preparing application documents, writing resumes and cover letters, and preparing for job interviews.

Participants will receive tips and strategies to present themselves effectively and increase their chances in the job market.

The training includes practical guidance, examples, and exercises so that participants can apply what they have learned immediately.
