Why We Should Attend This Weekly Fiqh Lecture
Our Sunday lecture on Fiqh al-Sunnah by Shaykh Sayyid Sābiq رحمه الله is not simply a class where we read a book. It is an opportunity to learn how to worship Allah correctly based on the Qur’an and Sunnah.
We began with Ṭahārah (Purification), learning about the importance of cleanliness and purification in Islam. We have now reached Najasah (Impurity), where we learn what Islam considers impure, how to identify it, and how to properly remove it.
These are matters that affect our daily lives—especially our Ṣalāh, Wuḍū’, clothing, body, and place of prayer. A person may perform an act of worship regularly without realizing that there are important rulings concerning it.
That is why this lecture is important: knowledge of Fiqh helps us worship Allah with understanding rather than simply following habits.
Let’s Make the Lecture More Interactive
Everyone is encouraged to participate. Don’t just come to listen—come with questions, share what you know, and learn from one another.
Before each Sunday, try to:
* 📖 Read the section that will be discussed.
* ❓ Come with at least one question.
* 🗣️ Participate when questions are asked.
* 📝 Take notes on important rulings.
* 🔄 Review what was taught during the week.
* 👥 Encourage a friend or family member to attend.
Our goal is not merely to finish the book. Our goal is to understand it and apply what we learn in our daily lives.
May Allah bless this gathering, increase us in beneficial knowledge, and enable us to act upon what we learn. Aameen Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyum
