The Support Foundation is a team of individuals with different background and disciplines but are united with a common passion to care, support and empower the deprived, needy and vulnerable in society. We are opened to individuals who share our mission and are passionate about social wor
k and voluntary services. The Support Foundation affect lives in four(4) key areas:
1. Clothing the poor and needy through our mass collection & sharing of used clothes program. Our most successful enterprise till date, The Support team does collection of old clothes all year round and make presentations during the Christmas and Easter festivities to the less privileged.The distribution of clothes and items by The Support foundation to deprived communities is a medium to establish relationship with them to identify their needs and find solutions to them.
2. Providing teaching and learning materials to schools, within rural and deprived communities. Nelson Mandela quotes "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". The Support Foundation believes that by championing the simple cause of helping to educate those who cannot afford learning materials, we draw a step closer in creating weapons of positive change in the world.
3. Birthday organization and celebrations for needy children, orphans and children living with disability. When we celebrate birthdays, they are wonderful times to build memories, to feel grateful and feel special. But sadly for others, it is a day they hardly remember because circumstances have made survival a daily battle. In most developing countries including Ghana, 1 in 5 children die before they reach their 5th birthday, some surviving children barely have three square meals, most unable to relish the joy the comes with being a child. The Support Foundation, with or without the involvement of sponsors, plans,organizes and shares birthday celebrations with the needy and orphans.
4. Free registration and payment of annual premium of NHIS for the less privileged in our society. The Support Foundation believes all people including those in very low income brackets should be able to access to basic healthcare available. Enhancing good Health is one of the greatest gift one can ever give, especially to those who cannot afford. We do this by encouraging the more privileged to sign up at least one under-privileged person under the NHIS. Signing a person on NHIS typically cost Ghc 24.
