Whose green growth playbook should Africa follow?

Much of the existing thinking is built around wealthier, more industrialized economies. Africa starts from a different place, with energy gaps, fiscal pressure, and an urgent need for jobs.

On 13 October at the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, we are bringing together policymakers, development financiers, and researchers to test emerging findings from our research on Africa's green growth agenda.

Finance alone cannot build a green economy; domestic value also requires capabilities, supplier links, and strong institutions.

Meet the finalists of the ACET Youth Policy Lab 2026!

Selected from a competitive applicant pool across the continent, thirty-six young Africans, working in teams, are set to lead a simulated National Youth Transformation Authority through fiscal constraints, fragmented institutions, and the urgent demand for real results.

They're tackling issues ranging from youth employment and innovation to governance and development financing, working with dedicated mentors to refine their ideas into serious policy proposals.
